About Buddha Air Cargo

Easily and conveniently send and receive packages across the destinations we fly.

Since our inception in 1997, we have been providing cargo services. At first, our cargo consisted only of letters and airmail. As we expanded our destinations and fleet, our cargo services also expanded to include general cargo, special cargo,newspapers, magazines, gifts, books, perishables,valuables, life-saving medicines, live animals  and even Human remains.

Our well-trained cargo team will ensure that your consignments will reach the designated destination on time and in good condition.

Sending and Receiving Cargo

What are the procedures that need to be taken to send or receive a consignment?

Before sending your consignment, it has to be prepackaged and all the necessary supporting documents that may be required  to ensure their safety during carriage.

You can visit our cargo office at Sinamangal, Kathmandu for urgent or large shipments. For other outstations, you can directly visit our sales/airport office.

You will need to clearly state the following:

• Name of the shipper (the person who will be sending the cargo)
• Name of consignee (the person who will be receiving the cargo)
• Origin and Arrival destination
• A valid working contact number of shipper
• A valid working contact number of consignee
• Address of consignee

After the information is filled in, we will dispatch your cargo to the mentioned destination.

To receive your cargo, you will need to visit our cargo office at Sinamangal for cargo delivered to Kathmandu Valley. For cargo delivered outside of Kathmandu, you will need to visit the respective airport. Our representative will call the number provided so that the consignee can receive the cargo.

Find out the items that we will cargo. Please note that Buddha Air is not a dangerous goods carrier. We cargo consignment of a maximum piece weight 23 Kgs, that is prepackaged. You will have to produce a Government of Nepal VAT Bill if the cargo is a manufactured product.

Besides the dangerous items listed below, we cargo everything to meet your need and make your life easier. Although the list of the item is virtually endless, here are a few examples. 

• Consumer durable goods - Phones, Cameras etc.
• Documents
• Clothing
• Fabric
• Shoes
• Medicines
• Valuable goods
• Hospital equipment  
• Other perishable goods

We are not a dangerous good items (DGI) carrier. These goods are strictly prohibited on all our flights:

• Explosives (Fireworks, flares, grenades, etc)
• Gases (Propane, butane, etc)
• Flammable liquids (Gasoline, methanol. Petrol, etc)
• Flammable solids (magnesium, firelighters, etc)
• Oxidizing substances (Bleach, etc)
• Toxic and infectious substances (rat poison, infected blood, etc)
• Radioactive material (medicinal or commercial isotopes
• Corrosives (Mercury, vehicle batteries)
• Miscellaneous Dangerous Goods (vehicle parts that may contain fuel, wet batteries, etc)

Note: Cargo remaining unclaimed for more than 90 days from the date of delivery/arrival will be subject to disposal and will not be eligible for release.

Where we cargo?

We offer cargo facilities across Nepal.

As we expanded our destinations and fleet, our cargo services also expanded. Now, we have cargo facilities in all the domestic destinations we fly to, which includes, Kathmandu, Pokhara, Biratnagar, Bhairahawa, Bhadrapur, Bharatpur, Tumlingtar, Simara, Surkhet, Dhangadhi, Janakpur, Rajbiraj and Nepalgunj. 

Please note that cargo services are currently not available for our international destinations.
