Buddha Air’s Achievements and Awards Over the Years 

Over the 25 years of operation, Buddha Air has received many awards for its contribution in the aviation sector of Nepal. These awards range from sectors such as safety, highest tax payer, tourism among many others. 

The Government of Nepal recognized Buddha Air as the “Highest Income Tax Payer in Aviation Tourism Sector '' in the year 2014 and 2012. The Government of Nepal along with the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has also awarded Buddha Air for the Highest Safety record in 2006 on the Occasion of International Civil Aviation Day. It recognized Buddha Air for “Safety and Security - First and Always the Top Priority”. It was a proud moment for Buddha Air to be awarded with these recognitions by the nation as it is a direct fruition of our hard work and dedication to providing the best aviation services to the people of Nepal. 

Buddha Air has also received awards from other organizations in Nepal such as the FNCCI (Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry) where it received the FNCCI Gold Award for Trendsetter in Nepal Aviation in 2017. From Frost & Sullivan, it received the award for the Best Airline of Nepal in 2016. 

Besides national level awards, the airline company has also received international recognitions in different sectors. One of these includes recognition by the Pacific Asia Travel Association which was offered in appreciation for strong support and valuable contribution to the Pacific Travel Association for the years 2000, 2002/03, 2004/05 and 2006/07. 

Similarly, Pratt & Whitney, a Canadian Corporation recognized Buddha Air for the introduction into service of Pw100 Engines and Appreciation for the Long Standing Relationship with Pratt & Whitney, Canada and the Exemplary Operational Safety of the Pt6a Engine in Nepal since 1998 on 16th September 2008.

During the United Nations World Tourism Day, the airline was also recognized as being the first among private sector airlines in Foreign Exchange Earnings during fiscal years of 2001, 2003, 2004, and 2005.

In the tourism sector, Buddha Air is popular as people’s top choice for flights in Nepal. TripAdvisor has awarded Buddha Air with Certificate of Excellence in 2019 for providing the best mountain flight in Nepal. For the past 3 consecutive years, Buddha Air has been successfully securing the certificate of excellence award from TripAdvisor.

These are just some examples of the many recognitions that Buddha Air has received. Overall, all of these awards and recognitions have helped to uphold Buddha Air’s position as the top domestic airlines in Nepal. Known for its safety and comfort, the domestic airline has served numerous passengers over the two decades of its operations. While such awards help to recognize the hard work of the company, at the end of the day, it is the passenger’s happiness and satisfaction that provide the utmost sense of achievement.
